Our Story
Badgers Oak Vets was set up by lead vet George Hnatkiwskyj back in 1993 and has been proudly providing veterinary services, support and advice to local pet owners and the farming community over the past 33 years.
What started as a small, single vet operation in the centre of Northiam village has developed into a busy first-opinion mixed vet practice employing 8 vets, 8 nurses, and 4 admin staff.
George set out to build a practice where every animal, whether a family dog or a herd of cows, gets the same level of care and attention. That's still true today: our vets take the time to know your animals, not just treat them, and as one of the few remaining independent mixed practices in the region, every decision we make is about what's right for you and your animals — not a head office.
We are now situated on a much larger site at George’s family home where there is a large customer carpark and enough room for livestock trailers and horse lorries, but what's kept clients coming back for over three decades hasn't been the size of the practice — it's what's stayed the same as it's grown.
We’re proud to still be family-run, still rooted in Northiam, and still doing things the way George intended from the start.
