Microchipping your Dog and Cat is now a legal requirement. You must make sure your dog is fitted with a microchip and registered on a database by the time it’s 8 weeks old. In England from the 10th June 2024 it will also be compulsory to have your cat microchipped and registered on a database from 20 weeks of age.
The chips we use are tiny and are usually placed between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck for ease of reading.
Once they are chipped, if your pet is lost or injured and subsequently found they can be quickly and easily scanned using a hand held device and returned to you. For this reason it is very important to keep the details associated with your pet’s microchip up to date.
The chip can be inserted at any time but if you choose to microchip your pet during routine surgery, such as neutering, we can offer a discounted price.
